Well, we just finished a revival meeting with Pastor Derrick Goette visiting and a few members of his church, Harvest Baptist Church in Canada.  We are so thankful for the way the Lord moved in the meetings and left our church enthusiastic for the things of God.  Every night - starting on Wed the 18 and finishing on Sunday the 22nd - we had service and a powerful message from the Word of God.

(Pictures HERE) It is almost 8pm on Thursday October 1st.  We have been out at schools all day long.  We had the opportunity today to do a feeding at a school in Manatd - Manatd Elementary School.  There are approximately 400 student at this elementary school.  We have taught at the school before, but there was some resistence from some of the faculty of the school.  Previously Pastor Johnny Lim (a local pastor here from in the mountains and good friend) only had the money to feed 1-2 grades of students here.  After the last time we were able to teach at this school the Lord really spoke to my heart about feeding the whole school.  By doing this we soften the hearts of some of the faculty and they will be more tolerant of what we are doing.  Also it meets a great physical need for the students and parents.  Many of these children do not get the proper nutrition they need.  We feed them soup that has about 10 different vegetables plus some fish in it as well as a hard-boiled egg.  It tastes good and is very nutricious.  There was a buzz of excitement as we showed up and began preparing the meal.  It was very exciting.  It is the kind of thing

Wow!  Seems like just last week I updated the website - it has been almost 2 months!  Sorry for the delay.  Here is what has been going on - we have been very busy with getting things in the building situated.  A local pastor built me a pulpit and we bought some bamboo benches as pews - they were cheap and fast.  We have also built several dividers to divide what used to be a warehouse into several smaller areas.  We are also gradually replacing the bamboo benches with pews built out of plywood.  We have to use marine grade plywood or the wood will warp and rot quickly.  The marine grade is much more expensive than the ordinary - so we will build a couple a month until we have a church full.  Attendance at church has been OK.  If everyone who said they would come would show up we would not have enough space to put them.  We have our faithful group who are there every week and some who come now and then.  So many are working or busy with other "things" on Sunday.

I have been taking language classes in the city, which has been eating alot of my time.  It is about 3 hours travel time plus 2 hours for a lesson 3 times a week.  The man who is teaching me is a Christian and an extremely good teacher.  He taught the US ambassador Cebuano.  While visiting
